Vacancy available: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. You will be based at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. The role involves: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools Ideal candidate: • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
