GTAW welder — Elk County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Elk County, Kansas. You will work at a busy fabrication workshop. Ideal candidate: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day to day you will back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through. 3+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Pay around $240 per day, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
