Sample machinist • Dickinson County, Iowa

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sample machinist in Dickinson County, Iowa. You will work in a sampling and tailoring workshop. What we are looking for: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Your main tasks: • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Walk-in interviews this week.
