Great opportunity: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Orange County, North Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. What we are looking for: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day-to-day duties: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
