Stainless steel welder wanted in Kings County

Join our team: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Kings County, New York. You will be based in a pharmaceutical piping facility. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) On the job you will handle: • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding Full-time, day shift.
