Immediate opening: we are hiring a lathe programmer-operator in City of Petersburg, Virginia. You will work in a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54) • Run facing, turning, boring, grooving and threading cycles • Deburr and chamfer machined parts by hand • Change worn carbide inserts and monitor tool wear • Top up coolant and clear swarf from the bed • Set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets Ideal candidate: • Willing to work rotating day and night shifts • Working knowledge of G-code and M-code • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges Full-time with occasional weekends.
