GTAW welder wanted in Louisa County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Louisa County, Iowa. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On a typical shift you will set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent. Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
