Sample machinist — Alger County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a sample machinist in Alger County, Michigan. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges Ideal candidate: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently 4+ years on the tools preferred.
