Immediate opening: we are hiring a cement mason in Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Alaska. You will work at an infrastructure site. Day-to-day duties: • Fix and tie reinforcement bars and mesh as per the bar bending schedule • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Mix concrete to the specified grade (M15, M20, M25) by hand or in a mixer • Discharge and place concrete from transit mixers and pumps into the forms Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet • Willing to wear safety boots, helmet and full PPE Part-time with flexible hours.
