The role involves: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer Requirements: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot 3+ years on the tools preferred.
