Urgent requirement: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Borough of Swindon, England. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Ideal candidate: • ITI/NCVT certificate in machinist or turner trade • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron Your main tasks: • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production • Apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed • Load and edit CNC programs (G-code) at the Fanuc/Siemens control • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
