Now hiring: we are hiring a tig welder in Petersburg Borough, Alaska. On a typical shift you will back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. What we are looking for: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
