Great opportunity: we are hiring a machinist in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The job is in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Requirements: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus On the job you will handle: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
