Vacancy available: fettler (New York)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fettler in Herkimer County, New York. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Full-time, day shift.
