Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Cheshire East, England. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On a typical shift you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture.
