Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Aiken County, South Carolina. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling On the job you will handle: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Rotating shifts.
