Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear On a typical shift you will coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio.
