Now hiring: we are hiring a hoist operator in Grant Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at a shipbuilding yard. What we are looking for: • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Able to read load charts and lifting plans On the job you will handle: • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger Pay around $160 per day, based on your experience.
