Now hiring: steel fixing chargehand (Texas)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Orange County, Texas. You will work at a precast concrete yard. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules Day to day you will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
