Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, England. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Pay around £2,700 per month, based on your experience. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
