Foundry labourer • Hood County, Texas

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Hood County, Texas. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time with occasional weekends.
