You should have: • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • Comfortable working at height and in confined hoistways On a typical shift you will test buffers, final limit switches and the emergency brake; rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches; carry out planned preventive maintenance and grease the guide shoes; respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
