Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Kudan, Kaduna State. The role involves: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 1+ years on the tools preferred.
