Precision welder wanted in Orkney Islands

We are recruiting: we are hiring a precision welder in Orkney Islands, Scotland. You will work at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day to day you will feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. You should have: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts.
