Gas metal arc welder • Richmond County, New York

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Richmond County, New York. You will be based on a structural steel site. Your main tasks: • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls Requirements: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $190 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
