Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Day to day you will grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks.
