Offshore rigger — Marin County

Great opportunity: we are hiring an offshore rigger in Marin County, California. You will be based in a steel fabrication yard. Day to day you will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position. Ideal candidate: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
