Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Kent County, Rhode Island. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On a typical shift you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. Part-time with flexible hours. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Pay around $2,600 per month, based on your experience. Share your details and we will call you back.
