You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances The role involves set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding.
