Occupational health and safety officer — Kent County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Kent County, Rhode Island. On a typical shift you will record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry. Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot 6+ years on the tools preferred.
