Metal caster — San Saba County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in San Saba County, Texas. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. On a typical shift you will make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
