Occupational health and safety officer — Presque Isle County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Presque Isle County, Michigan. You will be based on a road and infrastructure project. Your main tasks: • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift Ideal candidate: • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites 2+ years on the tools preferred. $5,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
