Now hiring: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Fayette County, Georgia. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Day to day you will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding.
