Now hiring: we are hiring a brickwork mason in City of Alexandria, Virginia. Day-to-day duties: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Six days a week, one day off.
