Day-to-day duties: • Measure and set panel gaps for an even shut line • Treat rust, apply seam sealer and underbody protection • Feather-edge old paint and prime bare metal before respray • Knock out dents and creases using a panel hammer and dolly • Check alignment with measuring gauges after a structural pull You should have: • 2+ years' experience as a panel beater or in a body shop • Confident reading insurance estimates and damage reports • Skilled in MIG welding and panel replacement Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
