Production welder — Newport

Vacancy available: we are hiring a production welder in Newport, Wales. You should have: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings Day-to-day duties: • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints Six days a week, one day off.
