Furnace operator — Portage County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in Portage County, Wisconsin. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. On a typical shift you will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings We offer $5,000 per month plus benefits.
