Urgent requirement: we are hiring a bricklayer in South Tyneside, England. The job is at a groundworks and structures site. Your main tasks: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel What we are looking for: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Performance bonus on top of base pay.
