Abattoir worker • Orange County, New York

We are recruiting: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Orange County, New York. You will work in a hotel or restaurant butchery. Your main tasks: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone You should have: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
