Immediate opening: we are hiring a safety officer in City of Chesapeake, Virginia. You will work at an oil and gas facility. You should have: • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot Your main tasks: • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
