Immediate opening: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Kern County, California. Day to day you will feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp. Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings 3+ years on the tools preferred.
