Fire and safety officer • Pickens County, Alabama

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Pickens County, Alabama. The job is on a road and infrastructure project. Day to day you will audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors. Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
