Abattoir worker — Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region

Now hiring: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. You will be based in a meat processing plant. Day-to-day duties: • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Season and marinate meat on request • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking What we are looking for: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry Pay around $4,100 per month, based on your experience. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
