Brick and block layer — Carroll County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Carroll County, Georgia. You will work on a new-build development. What we are looking for: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks The role involves laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
