Immediate opening: fusing press operator (Michigan)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fusing press operator in Cheboygan County, Michigan. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. Ideal candidate: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Your main tasks: • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
