Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Shelby County, Alabama. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor The role involves: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Overtime paid at a premium rate.
