Garment machinist — Otsego County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment machinist in Otsego County, New York. The job is at a knitwear stitching unit. You will meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
