Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor The role involves carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together.
