Furnace operator wanted in Santa Barbara County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Santa Barbara County, California. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
