Great opportunity: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. You will be based at a groundworks and structures site. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks Day-to-day duties: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel 1+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Pay around $4,100 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
